The solo Darija Divan by Lea Pischke is an attempt at ”counter-integrating” from one cultural realm into another. Following the example of the North African dialect Darija, with its influences from both sides of the Mediterranean, the performer tries to create an ”update” of an architectural shape whose own successor represents a figure of dance:the arabesque.

Iż-żifna solista Darija Divan huwa tentattiv ta’ ‘kontrointegrazzjoni’ minn qasam kulturali għal ieħor. Wara l-eżempju tad-djalett Darija tal-Afrika ta’ Fuq – bl-influwenzi tiegħu miż-żewġ naħat tal-Mediterran – iż-żeffien ser jipprova joħloq ‘aġġornament’ ta’ forma arkitettonika li s-suċċessur tagħha stess jirrappreżenta figura taż-żfin: l-arabesk.
