MUŻAThe Intentional Frame – Workshop by Therese Debono
Target Audience: Youths
Category: Workshop
Price: €10
Youths are cordially invited to a photography workshop that explores the fine line between documentary and artistic practice, examining how images can both record reality and interpret it. Through guided exercises, participants will focus on framing, perspective, and intention as key tools in shaping meaning.
The session encourages photographers to question objectivity and consider their own role within the image-making process. Rather than treating photographs as neutral documents, it highlights photography as an active and critical form of visual storytelling. The approach connects closely with projects such as BLANK and In Place. Where the Land Holds, where photography operates between evidence, interpretation, and narrative.
Il-Gwarniċ Intenzjonat
Iż-żgħażagħ huma mistiedna għal workshop dwar il-fotografija li jesplora l-linja rqiqa bejn il-prattika dokumentarja u dik artistika, u jeżamina kif l-immaġni jistgħu kemm jirreġistraw ir-realtà kif ukoll jinterpretawha. Permezz ta’ eżerċizzji gwidati, il-parteċipanti jiffukaw fuq il-gwarniċ, il-perspettiva u l-intenzjoni bħala għodod ewlenin biex tissawwar it-tifsira.
Is-sessjoni tħeġġeġ lill-fotografi jiddubitaw l-oġġettività u jikkunsidraw ir-rwol tagħhom infushom fil-proċess tal-ħolqien tal-immaġni. Minflok tittratta r-ritratti bħala dokumenti newtrali, tiffoka fuq il-fotografija bħala forma attiva u kritika ta’ rakkont viżiv. Dan huwa marbut mill-qrib ma’ proġetti bħal BLANK u In Place. Where the Land Holds, fejn il-fotografija taħdem bejn l-evidenza, l-interpretazzjoni u n-narrattiva.
