Opening Times: Monday to Sunday 10.00AM to 06.00PM
The Malta Maritime Museum is housed within the Old Naval Bakery and charts some 7000 years of Malta’s maritime history, from prehistory to the present day.
Constructed between 1842 and 1845, the building was designed by architect William Scamp.
After the Second World War, the bakery was converted into the headquarters of the Admiralty Constabulary. The bakery remained in use until 1979, when the British forces left Malta. The building was subsequently abandoned, and only re-opened in 1992, as the Malta Maritime Museum.
