Amy Bravo (b.1997, New Jersey, USA) is an artist of Italian-Cuban origin, currently working in Queens, New York. Her works combine icons from Cuba’s popular and religious culture with hyper-personal family stories to invent her own vision of an afterlife in the rough shape of the island of Cuba. Bravo prefers loose canvas which is cut and stitched together in irregular shapes on which she mixes drawing, painting, and assemblage. Bravo obtained her BFA in Illustration at Pratt Institute in 2019 and a Master of Fine Arts in Painting at Hunter College in 2022. Her recent exhibitions include solo shows at Swivel Gallery, New York; Semiose Gallery, Paris 2023, and group shows with Rachel Uffner Gallery, Workplace, and The FLAG Foundation.
