Cecilia Vicuña (b.1948, Santiago, Chile) responds to pressing concerns of the modern world such as ecological destruction, human rights, and cultural homogenization. Her solo exhibitions were held at, amongst others: Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, Santiago; Museum of Contemporary Art Tucson; Tate Modern, London; Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum; Museo Universitario de Arte Contemporáneo, Mexico City; Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami; Witte de With Center Rotterdam; ICA Philadelphia; Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; Brooklyn Museum. She was featured in group exhibitions and biennials at the 59th Venice Biennale, Venice; 13th Shanghai Biennale; 13th Gwangju Biennale, and Documenta 14.
