Ibrahim Mahama (b.1987, Tamale, Ghana) uses the transformation of materials to explore themes of commodity, migration, globalisation and economic exchange. He presented internationally at the 22nd Biennale of Sydney; Stellenbosch Triennale; 6th Lubumbashi Biennale; University of Manchester; Inaugural Ghana Pavilion, 58th Venice Biennale; Norval Foundation, Cape Town; Documenta 14; 56th Venice Biennale; K21, Düsseldorf; The Broad Art Museum, Michigan; Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Copenhagen, and Tel Aviv Art Museum, Israel (2016). Over the last years Ibrahim Mahama opened the artist-run project space Savannah Centre for Contemporary Art (SCCA), Red Clay and Nkrumah Volini, all in Tamale, Ghana.
