Isabelle Borg (1959-2010), an influential Maltese artist born in London to a Maltese father and Italian mother, left a lasting impact on the local art scene. In 1986, she graduated from London’s Camberwell School of Art with a Fine Arts degree. Her debut exhibition took place at the Archaeology Museum in Valletta in 1985. Living in West Berlin shaped her perspectives on current movements of the time. She maintained a dynamic connection between Malta and Ireland, with her primary studio located in Floriana. Borg’s portfolio encompassed numerous solo and group exhibitions, spanning both local and international, with a recent retrospective of her work held at Spazju Kreattiv, Valletta (2021).
