Martina Georgina (b.1989, Malta) and Romeo Roxman Gatt (b.1989, Malta) are artists based between Malta, the Baltics and London respectively. Their joint performance practice involves working with different mediums and materials. These all play a role in the duo’s engagement with questions concerning identity, sexuality and gender. MG continues to focus on the common obsessive behaviours of self-expression, placing her female experience at the centre, interweaving real time selfhood and the fictional. RRG’s fascination with car culture as well as his critical obsession of macho behaviour, most specifically in relation to Maltese men, persists. He is also interested in documenting and archiving trans and queer experiences.
